MLP Group starts construction of warehouse project near Berlin
MLP Group, a leader in the warehouse property market in Europe, is about to start the construction of MLP Business Park Berlin I, a city logistics project located south of Berlin, with the smallest lettable units starting from 700 sqm. The general contractor on the project is Köster GmbH.

MLP Group is about to start the construction of yet another logistics park in Germany. MLP Business Park Berlin I is located in close proximity to the city of Berlin, in Germany’s main warehouse hub. Works for phase one are currently under way, with over 16,500 sqm of modern space to be delivered on a speculative basis.

We are comfortable building speculative space in Germany. Given low vacancy rates, the country’s demand for warehouse space is constantly growing, with e-commerce and logistics companies as the key growth drivers. Therefore, I am confident that the present situation will not prevent us from winning tenants quickly. A powerful advantage of MLP Business Park Berlin I is its location, only 20 km from the Berlin city centre,’ says Patrick Kurowski, Country Manager at MLP Group S.A. for Germany and Austria.

MLP Business Park Berlin I will be built in line with the latest trends in the warehouse property market. This logistics and business park will feature city logistics facilities, which are small warehouse modules with cutting-edge modern office space finished to a very high standard. The modules are intended primarily for e-commerce, courier and light manufacturing companies. The project’s location near Berlin will make it an ideal place to run last mile delivery operations.

The general contractor for the project is Köster GmbH, a company with extensive experience in warehouse construction and a leading supplier of construction services in Germany.

In line with the standard practices applied by MLP Group, MLP Business Park Berlin I is fully BREEAM certified. Also, solar photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs to enable MLP Group to offer its tenants much lower electricity bills compared with competitors.

We are very pleased that despite uncertainty associated with the coronavirus epidemic, we have been able to secure all required administrative decisions and can proceed to build the project as planned. I hope the second wave of the epidemic expected this autumn will not delay construction works, and the finished facility will be delivered on schedule at the beginning of the second quarter of 2021,’ said Radosław T. Krochta, President of the Management Board of MLP Group S.A.

MLP Business Park Berlin I is sited in a prime location, just 20 km from the centre of Berlin. An entry to the A10 motorway is 2 km away and the Ludwigsfelde railway station is only 1.5 km away. There is a bus service at the park. The distance to Berlin Schönefeld Airport is 26 km.
