Construction of the MLP Gorzów Wielkopolski logistics centre is gaining momentum, with the cornerstone laid ceremony held last Tuesday. The park’s target leasable area is 56.7 thousand sqm. The first phase is set to provide a total of 21.4 thousand sqm of state-of-the-art warehouse space, with nearly half of it allocated to the first tenant, Sunrise Medical. The completed space is slated for handover in February 2024.
Guests attending the event which marked the start of construction included representatives of the local government, the general contractor, a future tenant and the project owner. Notably, the local government was represented by Jacek Wójcicki, the Mayor of Gorzów Wielkopolski. Representing MLP Group, the owner of the park in Gorzów, was represented by CEO Radosław T. Krochta, while WPIP, the company engaged as the general contractor, was its CEO Dariusz Stasik. The first tenant, was represented by Thomas Hardt, Senior Vice President for Europe and Group COO, Sunrise Medical.
“I am happy to see another investment project afoot in our city, confirming the consistency of our efforts. For Gorzów is experiencing a remarkable transformation and the fact that we have attracted another investor confirms that everything we do to create a conducive business environment makes sense. The infusion of new investments means new employment opportunities, but also reinforces Gorzów’s position on the business map. We’re all the more pleased to welcome Sunrise Medical, a global leader in the development, design, manufacturing and distribution of wheelchairs for people with disabilities. Furthermore, the technological and environmental solutions championed by MLP Group are aligned with our city’s vision. We are resolutely committed to fostering modern development, while maintaining a vigilant sense of responsibility towards our environment and the land on which the innovative logistics centres are erected. I am confident that future tenants will recognise this advantage and leverage it to bolster their own businesses. You can be sure that the local government will support this investment every step of the way,” commented Jacek Wójcicki, the Mayor of Gorzów Wielkopolski.
“Our strategic goal is to develop logistics hubs in high-demand warehouse destinations. We place a particular focus on environmental protection, a commitment exemplified by our rigorous adherence to the BREEAM certification process for all newly constructed facilities. We are also dedicated to ensuring the comfort of the logistics park’s users, integrating modern, user-centric solutions at every stage of the development. Every time, we take a collaborative approach with prospective occupants, working closely with them to create bespoke spaces, aligned precisely with their unique requirements and business needs,” said Radosław T. Krochta, the CEO of MLP Group.
“Being entrusted as the general contractor for MLP Group’s first venture in the region of Zielona Góra is a source of immense satisfaction to WPIP. This role represents a continuation of our fruitful partnership, which has previously culminated in the successful completion of projects encompassing the construction and expansion of logistics parks across different regions of our country, adhering to rigorous standards of environmental sustainability,” added Dariusz Stasik, the CEO of WPIP.
MLP Group is a leader in putting the principles of sustainable development into action, setting the highest environmental standards in the logistics and industrial property sector. In line with its strategy, the facilities currently under development at MLP Gorzów will achieve the BREEAM New Construction environmental certification of ‘Excellent’. The project integrates a range of eco-friendly features, including heat pumps, electric vehicle chargers, and bicycle racks.
MLP Gorzów’s location on the western side of Gorzów Wielkopolski, just 9 kilometres from the city centre and conveniently close to the road junction of the S3 expressway, holds tremendous advantages for investors, as does its proximity to the German border, a mere 53 kilometres away, and favourable distance of approximately 135 kilometres to Berlin. The centre will be tailored to cater primarily to tenants operating in such sectors as e-commerce, logistics, distribution, and light industrial manufacturing. Zielona Góra, the province’s capital, is a vibrant city with very well developed infrastructure and skilled workforce.
