In the first half of 2017, the MLP Group signed 11 lease agreements for a total of nearly 97,800 square meters of warehouse and office space. Out of this area, 52,500 square meters of space was leased by clients in newly completed facilities. The remaining transactions covering a total of 45,300 square meters of space were for the most part extensions of expiring lease periods by existing clients and additions to currently leased warehouse space.
The majority of newly completed facilities were contracted by the Żabka chain of convenience stores to which the MLP Group will provide 24,700 square meters of space in the MLP Gliwice park. In turn, Avery Dennison, the manufacturer and distributor of labels and self-adhesive materials leased 13,300 square meters of warehouse space in the MLP Pruszków II logistics park.
At the end of H1 2017, the total surface area of warehouse and office space leased out by the MLP Group was 326,000 square meters with a vacancy rate below 1%. At the same time, nearly 97,100 square meters of space was under construction.
“During a mere 6 months, we reached the level of last year’s commercialization, which, according to expectations, was the minimum target for the whole year. This means that we will certainly exceed these expectations by a significant figure. We have already launched our international expansion to Germany and Romania. We are expanding our existing parks and have new projects in the pipeline. This provides us with a huge potential for further development and continued growth in the Group’s value,” emphasized Agnieszka Góźdź, Head of the Leasing Department at MLP Group S.A.
Currently, the Group operates eight logistics parks in Poland: MLP Pruszków I, MLP Pruszków II, MLP Poznań, MLP Lublin, MLP Teresin, MLP Wrocław, MLP Czeladź and MLP Gliwice. Based on a development agreement, the Group is also responsible for the commercialization of the MLP Bieruń logistics park, sold in 2015. In addition, the Group owns land plots and has signed reservation agreements to purchase new plots for its planned logistics parks. This means that the current and potential real estate portfolio managed by the MLP Group consists of a total of thirteen operating logistics parks located in Europe.
