The BREEAM certification scheme is currently one of the most commonly applied methods for assessing buildings in terms of their environmental performance and functionality. The certificate also confirms a project meets sustainable development requirements and is friendly both to the environment and building occupiers.
The developer’s first project to receive the certificate is an existing facility for InPost, with a total area of 8,800 sqm, at the MLP Poznań West logistics park in Dąbrówka near Poznań. The building was delivered for occupancy at the beginning of the third quarter of 2019.
The solutions applied by the developer have been highly rated in the BREEAM assessment process in the ‘health and well-being’, ‘transport’, ‘water’, and ‘land use and ecology’ categories. The maximum number of points was scored in the ‘waste’ and ‘materials’ categories. The MLP Group’s consistent policy in environmentally friendly solutions makes it obligatory for all new projects to undergo a certification process aimed at analysing sustainable development performance indicators, including a number of environmental issues.
The MLP Group is committed to sustainable development, occupiers’ awareness and environmental standards that are increasingly a requirement of existing and potential customers. Building warehouse space that meets the BREEAM criteria saves a great deal of resources as applying a solution in line with the adopted requirements is expected to ensure resource-efficient operation and, in the longer term, reduce utility consumption, which is of paramount importance for companies bound by ten-year or longer-term contracts,” – said Radosław T. Krochta, President of the MLP Group Management Board.
Environmental performance certificates have undoubtedly become an additional asset in facility selection – the green logo on our buildings comes with responsibility,” added Radosław T. Krochta, President of the MLP Group Management Board.
MLP Poznań West is a state-of-the-art distribution centre conveniently located on the western side of Poznań, at the S11 expressway and only 7 km from the A2 motorway and S11 junction. The Centre focuses primarily on e-commerce, logistics, distribution and light industrial production companies. Its target leasable area is around 83,000 m3 of modern warehouse and production space. The project’s indisputable advantages are its location and flexible space tailored to the specific needs of individual customers.
